Have you Checked for Your Unclaimed Funds Lately?

As you might have noticed by now, EL & Associates LLC has a wealth of information that we try our best to freely give. One of the subjects we have found that we love to help people with is Unclaimed funds. We realize that people don't care about how much you know or how smart you are until they know how much you really care! We do care! We can assure you that Unclaimed funds are very real and you may have funds due you!

With today's economy the way it is, everyone can use money found; especially when that money really belongs to them! Several months ago, we were sitting around at a business luncheon and talking about simple ways to help the average person put some money in their pocket and after much masterminding, one of my follow associates came up with the not so new idea of helping folks obtain their Unclaimed Funds. Great, but where do we start? was the next question! So, we started the research and contacted a couple of companies that pay their rent by helping others with Uncliamed funds; but one company ( which I will not mention) really helped us greatly. They explained all the in's and out's of Unclaimed funds which is technically called Unclaimed Property. They helped us with understanding the stats and what is the real definition of Unclaimed funds. Definition: Unclaimed funds are unclaimed property which can be any finanical asset or sum of money that appears to have been abandoned by the owner.

These funds can come from many sources such as: Utility deposits (very common), credit balances, and store refunds. Uncashed dividend, payroll or cashier's checks, Stock certificates or accounts, bonds, mutual fund accounts, Life insurance policy proceeds, Undistributed wages, Checking and savings accounts, Gift certificates, Traveler's Checks, Safe deposit boxes, Royalty payments, Court payments or deposits.

You might have unclaimed property in any state where you or your relatives have ever lived or done business! Also if you have moved with or without leaving a forwarding address. Moving is the main source of abandoned utility deposits and bank account balances.
You have retired, been reassigned, or laid off from a job, have not made a transaction on your checking or savings account for over three years, have stopped payments on an insurance policy, have an uncashed check made out to you more than 3 years ago, regularly throw away your mail without reading it, or have noticed that regular dividend, interest, or royalty checks have stopped coming, or have settled a deceased family member's estate. So you see there are many, many ways that you may have Unclaimed funds coming to you.

There are some FREE sites that you can visit like www.missingmoney.com or www.unclaimedproperty.yourstate.gov (placing your state where it says yourstate) and if you stop there you may still not find your unclaimed funds; there are many other federal and states sites that you might miss because each federal and state agency maintains its own records of such funds and has it's own website to check for these funds. There are many databases; but what we have found truly interesting in assisting people with claiming their funds is number one: they did not even know they had funds coming and number two: If they did know, did not know how to obtain the funds or where to look for them.

EL & Associates LLC encourages everyone to check their name in the main centralized databases listed above to find out if you have Unclaimed funds. If you feel you may need help locating any of these funds, we will be glad to assist you. There is over 10 billion dollars in Unclaimed property/funds being held by the states, this is not including federal and banks! Look today!
